ACE 2025 – Connecting the Global Logistics Community

ACE 2025 – Connecting the Global Logistics Community

Air Cargo Europe (ACE) 2025, part of the biennial transport logistic fair in Munich, once again highlighted the future of air cargo and logistics innovation.

This year, 2,719 exhibitors from 73 countries and around 77,000 visitors from over 130 nations gathered, with ACE alone occupying 22,000 m² of prime exhibition space. Since its debut in 2003, ACE has grown into a central global platform, reflecting the evolution of its parent event, which began in 1970 and is now the world’s largest logistics and supply chain fair.

Robert Schönberger (Global Industry Lead, Messe München) said, “When we started… it was just an additional segment. Now, it has become a full part of the exhibition.” He noted ACE’s growing international reach: “Participants from China… will return in 2025.” Stefan Rummel (CEO, Messe München) emphasized the fair’s global significance: “transport logistic 2025 has impressively shown… logistics plays in our connected world. It is the lifeline of the global economy.”

Ace  At the same time, it opened doors to new customers and collaborations, whether by visiting other stands or welcoming visitors to ours.

As Ashwin Bhat (CEO, Lufthansa Cargo) put it, “Personal dialogue… connects people and markets worldwide.” We experienced the same: in-person conversations at ACE were invaluable for building trust, sharing ideas, and deepening relationships.

This year, we also introduced a completely new stand design, created to attract both existing and potential customers. To complement this, we organized a stand party, offering a relaxed and enjoyable moment to celebrate with known faces and meet new contacts — combining business with a personal touch.

In addition, we presented our Accelerate magazine, first launched in 2023. The magazine introduces our company in an interesting and accessible way, offering insights into our business, showcasing products, and sharing important company news. It is designed not only to attract new customers but also to remind existing partners of the full range of services we provide.

While online meetings and emails are useful, ACE reminded us of the irreplaceable value of personal interaction. Face-to-face conversations spark ideas, build trust, and create a deeper understanding — things no virtual format can fully replicate.

In short, ACE 2025 delivered on both scale and substance. It brought people together, sparked meaningful conversations, and turned encounters into lasting partnerships — proving once again that the fair is a vital platform for the global logistics industry.

Wallenborn moves to new dedicated Logistics Centre at Liege Airport

Wallenborn moves to new dedicated Logistics Centre at Liege Airport

Wallenborn has been part of Liege Airport’s growth since 2017, foreseeing the future business potential of a new, centrally located, curfew-free cargo airport in Europe.

Belgium, 25.03.2025

At that point, LGG was positioned eighth in Europe by tonnage. In 2024, cargo volumes had increased twofold, elevating LGG to fifth position in the rankings and solidifying its status as the leading gateway for cross-border e-commerce.

Donald Schaap, General Manager Belgium noted that “while e-commerce significantly contributed to this significant growth, Wallenborn also played a crucial role by ensuring seamless connectivity between LGG and export and import markets throughout Europe. LGG lacks a substantial local market, and our objective has been to greatly enhance and expand market accessibility for airlines and e-commerce service providers using LGG as their hub. We are the largest and most proficient provider of road transportation at LGG and we have made significant investments in personnel, fleet and technology. This culminated in 2025 with our relocation to a brand new, 18,000 square metre state-of-the art transport and logistics facility incorporates offices, secure truck parking, and flexible warehousing dedicated to e-commerce services.

Our e-commerce customers appreciate our integrated strategy, as they favour obtaining all necessary services from a single provider. Additionally, they benefit from our extensive fleet and wide-reaching network, which has consistently demonstrated our ability to rapidly scale operations and deliver to any European market.”

Wallenborn and WFS elevate cooperation in Copenhagen with launch of E-commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling services

Wallenborn and WFS elevate cooperation in Copenhagen with launch of E-commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling services.

Wallenborn, recognised as one of Europe’s largest air-cargo road feeder services (RFS) operators has announced that Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a SATS company, will take over the existing customer portfolio from Wallenborn Outsourcing in Copenhagen Wallenborn Transports, effective 1 March 2025.

Scandinavia, 17.12.2024

Initially, E-commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling (EFFH) services will be managed at the Danish airport from a 2,500m² facility located at Kystvejen, 24 and will transition, to the newly-refurbished 4,800m² warehouse at Kystvejen 28 in summer 2025

The new 4,800m² facility underscores WFS’ robust commitment to customers in Copenhagen and solidifies its status as the largest air cargo handling provider at CPH. Since opening its first warehouse operation in 2006, WFS has expanded by adding two further purpose-built facilities along with a dedicated GDP-certified pharma facility to support the cluster of life science companies in the Greater Copenhagen area. Currently, it provides handling services for over 50 airline customers in Copenhagen.

“We’re pleased to announce the sale of Wallenborn Outsourcing, which we established in 2016, to WFS. This marks a significant step for our concept and lays the groundwork for even more growth in the Danish logistics space. WFS shares our vision for developing the Outsourcing concept, and we’re confident that WFS will unlock new opportunities and drive innovation. A huge thank you to our amazing team, loyal customers, and partners for their support over the years. A special thank you to Henrik Melbye for his invaluable support and contributions throughout our journey. We’re excited about the future and the opportunities ahead,” said Peter Nygaard, Wallenborn MD Scandinavia.

“Our extensive customer base in Copenhagen, along with the broader freight forwarding community in Denmark, offers considerable opportunities to develop and expand WFS’ E-commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling services. We expect a high level of further interest from both current and prospective customers seeking to outsource these types of services to an experienced partner with a proven track record of delivering EFFH solutions at major airports,” said Jimi Daniel Hansen, WFS’ Interim Managing Director Denmark & Senior Vice President Operational Excellence.

WFS currently offers EFFH services to customers at eight other airport stations in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Liege, London Heathrow, Madrid, Paris CDG, and Stockholm Arlanda.
